The delightful anise/licorice scent of Sweet Cicely, a foul odor from Skunk Cabbage, and the refreshing, earthy smell of bacteria in decaying wood… These were some of the woodland smells that Danesa Stolz introduced to Project Eden participants on a nature walk in Ritchey Woods in Fishers on May 7th. We also enjoyed finding many spring wildflowers in bloom and listening to the songs of migrating birds. And it didn’t start raining until the end of the walk!
Ritchey Woods is one of only two state designated nature preserves in Hamilton County. Learn more here and plan your visit soon!
